'NECK BEARD 2' IN SPINE-TEK

 
 When something isn’t broke, there’s no need to fix it. That said, Britt Merrick and Dane Reynolds still felt a few slight refinements would make an already epic board that much better. And it did: The merits to this update can be seen in Dane’s new surf film “The Electric Acid Surfboard Test.”
A big fan of single concave, Dane asked Britt to turn the original Neckbeard’s double concave to single throughout. This changed the rocker landscape some, but in a very positive way—enhancing its wave entry, down-the-line speed, and overall control. They also widened the tail block 1/2” and added a slight hip, resulting in increased responsiveness and maneuverability.

Alternative Performance - Parker Coffin said it first: "A NeckBeard 2 would work sick as a twin-fin fish!" So we got to work redesigning the back half of the NB2 template and rocker, paired the board with our CI Keel Fins, and the FishBeard was born!

A sleeker, more performance-ready design than the CI fish, the Fish Beard is pure business in the front and all party in the back. Get forward on this user friendly board and drive from the center and you'll have all the speed and flow you always desired. Step back on the tail to engage the fins and rails, which provides you hold, pivot, projection and the freedom to rip as hard as ever. To keep the party going, we dug into the archives and found some mid 80's fluorescent logos and recreated CI's iconic layup from that era.

Just evolving the Go Fish to something new, really. The Go Fish goes fast and feels skatey and loose and I love it, and riding it for a couple years made me want to feel more high performance - more carves, tighter turns. So the Seaside is about refining… less area in the tail, narrowing the tips of the swallow, creating more curve and narrowing the nose. All elements for ripping while the Go Fish stays cruisey and fun.

Easy Rider dimensions have been created with the goal of making our most popular models even more approachable. I like to think of the guy at the Donut store that glazes the donuts. Pretty important dude. Kinda makes or breaks a donut. 

He’s the GLAZER. And then you have my number one test pilot - TODD GLASER. He’s been riding this board for close to a decade. We’ve been modifying and tweaking it for years. 

A little bit of width here... a touch of thickness there... back and forth until we finally agreed that it was ready. Very round and sleek curves. Gentle rockers. Easy to ride for all levels and easy to ride in all types of waves.
